Osseodensification Pre-Clinical Research

This lecture sequentially presents the preclinical efforts in the characterization of osseodensification from dental to orthopedic applications. Through the presentation of peer-reviewed published and work under development, the mechanisms of bone healing due to osseodensification are presented and support the current recommended clinical practice guidelines for different applications.
Dr. Paulo Coelho is the Leonard Linkow Professor and is affiliated with the Department of Biomaterials, the Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery, and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at New York University. Dr. Coelho leads a research group that focuses on tissue engineering and biomechanical aspects of biomaterials. Dr. Coelho’s current work is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIAMS, NIDCR, and NICHD), the Department of Defense, and the private industry.
